6.7 871 Advanced Bioscan

6.7.1 871 Advanced Bioscan features

The Metrohm 871 Advanced Bioscan is a pulsed amperometric

detector for use with a modular IC system. The instrument is de-

signed to carry out determination of carbohydrates but is also ca-

pable of analyzing alcohols (polyalcohols), sugar alcohols, as well

as other oxidizable substances. The 871 Advanced Bioscan is

fully operated using the «IC Net» program. The 871 Advanced

Bioscan icon in the SYSTEM window is used to open the 871 Ad-

vanced Bioscan window for manual control and parameter set-

tings. The 871 Advanced Bioscan is normally connected directly

to a PC COM port using the 6.2134.180 cable.

6.7.2 871 Advanced Bioscan icon

The 871 icon is available in the system window if a 871 Advanced

Bioscan

has been installed with the New system wizard or by using

the

Setup/New devices/Install new device option of the SYSTEM win-

dow (see section 6.1.2).

If the system is connected and the 871 icon is clicked with the

right mouse button, the following menu appears:

Open Open the 871 Advanced Bioscan window for parameter

settings (this window can also be opened by double-

clicking the icon).

Hardware-specific settings

Open the window which displays the Hardware-

specific settings.

Unlink Delete the 871 icon from the system.
